Sewing, quilting, needlework, embroidery, mending, hemming, knitting, crafting…women…we do it all!
If you are reading this email, then you’re part of a lucky community — we have leisure, luxury and the ability to indulge in our hobbies, passions and loves.
Not all women and children are as lucky.
That’s why we have decided, this International Women’s Day 2017, to help other women who are supporting and sustaining themselves with sewing, quilting, weaving – any and all needlework.
Through Kiva.org we will invest 15% of our sales that occur tomorrow, March 8, 2017 – to women looking for loans to help them improve their lives.
Right now Gulnaz, from Pakistan, is trying to raise $450 to buy threads and a winding machine for her shawl-weaving business. This a loan, with interest charges and a 16 month repayment schedule.
As of 5 p.m. on March 7, Gulnaz still needs $400 to meet her goal.
Contributions start as low as $25. We want to contribute more.
