1 Million Pillowcase Challenge

American Patchwork & Quilting is challenging quilters, sewers and crafters to help them reach their goal of donating one million pillowcases to local charities. Many charities can benefit from the donation of a pillowcase and the challenge gives everyone the opportunity to donate and make a difference in their community.

We created 3 kits to participate in the American Patchwork & Quilting 1 million Pillowcase Challenge. Each kit includes the fabric and pattern to make one pillowcase.

You can view the items in our shop by clicking on the images below:

Join the movement today! Get started in three simple steps.

1. Find a participating shop.
2. Make one, two or more pillowcases. You’ll brighten just as many lives.
3. Be sure your donation counts! Update our online pillowcase counter by logging in at http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/index.html and adding your number, or send an email to millionpillowcases [!at] meredith.com to add your pillowcases to the tally!

You can donate your pillowcase yourself to a local charity, or feel free to contact us at info [!at] flarefabrics.ca to find out where to send them!

Included with our kits is a printed pattern from the American Patchwork & Quilting website. With this “roll up” method, it’s easy to make a pillowcase with no exposed seams for a clean and neat look. Below, you can follow our tutorial, which is based on of the one that’s available at http:/www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/instructions/RollItUp.pdf

Before you start, cut one 10″ x 41″ strip from the border fabric and from the main pillowcase fabric, cut one 26.5″ x 41″ rectangle.
